Samsung’s second major event of 2022 is fast approaching, and to add to the hype, the company has now released an official trailer for the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked, in which it shows off the designs of at least two phones, which by the looks of them are almost certainly the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.
While Samsung hasn’t mentioned these handsets by name, we’ve long expected to see them at this event on August 10th. However, previous teasers specifically focused on a successor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. Z Folding here is also reassuring.
As for what to expect from these phones. Well, the video only shows brief glimpses of each, but multiple angles are shown, and some details can be noticed.
In the case of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 then (or at least the folding flip phone that is believed to go by that name) there appears to be two rear camera lenses, along with a flash. This is in keeping with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, as is the two-tone design on the back and the arrangement of ports, buttons and antenna lines from what we can see here.
Glimpses of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold are more fleeting, but this too looks very similar to its predecessor from what we can see. None of this is surprising, as leaks have hinted at it.
In addition to the images, this trailer also includes some text that suggests possible improvements. There is mention of new ways of working and having fun, new ways of capturing life, and new experiences that will forever change our behavior.
Some of this is pretty vague and may just be highlighting the advantages foldables have over flat phones, but the life-capturing part is likely a hint for camera upgrades, especially since it’s followed by an image of the Galaxy’s lens. Z Flip 4.
The mention of new ways to work and play in the meantime could be a hint for the S Pen slot on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. We should find out for sure on August 10th.
Analysis: more than just foldables

These are expected to be high-end wearables with worryingly high prices but big upgrades to battery life.
We can also see other gadgets like the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro – although at least one source thinks they will arrive before August 10th. Either way, this appears to be a packed event and a big deal for Samsung fans.
