She-Hulk director Kat Coiro has revealed that she doesn’t officially know where the upcoming Marvel TV show fits into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) timeline.
Speaking exclusively to during the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law global press conference, Coiro was unable to provide a definitive answer as to where the Disney Plus program fits into the increasingly confusing timeline.
Since the Avengers’ time-traveling adventures in Endgame, not to mention the five-year jump between Avengers: Infinity War and its successor (i.e. Endgame), Marvel fans have grown increasingly confused as to how the Avengers’ timeline MCU operates. When projects like WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier kicked off Phase 4 of the MCU, fans had a vague idea of where all the Marvel movies and TV series were in the main MCU timeline.
However, the waters became increasingly murky with each new production. Now, fans don’t know where superhero movies like Thor: Love and Thunder, or shows like Ms Marvel, fit into the overarching narrative of the MCU, so MCU aficionados (ourselves included) have resorted to guessing where these properties are in the real world. timeline.
Leather is among that number as well. The director of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia revealed that she had an idea of where the She-Hulk TV show fits into the MCU. But given the complexities involved, Coiro explained that there is only one person who definitely knows the answer.
“I have a lot of ideas,” she said when asked about She-Hulk’s place in the MCU timeline. “But in order not to get arrested by the Marvel Police, I always say this is a better question for [Marvel Studios president] Kevin [Feige]. He holds the entire MCU in his brain. And we all submit to it.”

Coiro isn’t the first Marvel director, writer or producer who isn’t privy to a breakdown of the Marvel timeline. The director of Thor 4, Taika Waititi, has stated that the last solo film of the god of thunder takes place in 2027 (for Radar Games (opens in new tab)), but that seems way ahead of where other recent Marvel Phase 4 projects might be defined. Meanwhile, Sana Amanat, Ms Marvel’s co-creator and executive producer on the character’s Disney Plus series, couldn’t pinpoint where Kamala Khan’s live-action debut takes place (via The Direct (opens in new tab)). Amanat suggests it will be sometime in 2025, but again, there’s been no official confirmation from Feige or the Marvel executive team.
Suffice to say, fans who keep trying to figure out where each new Marvel movie and TV show fits into the MCU timeline are likely to be increasingly frustrated. If only Marvel Studios would give us a full breakdown of their main timeline…
