Tata Motors has announced new features for its best-selling EV, the Tata Nexon. The EV with the cutting edge features was named: Tata Nexon EV Prime.
The five things to note in the new offering are: Multi-mode Regen, automatic brake lamp activation on Regen, cruise control, indirect tire pressure monitoring system (iTPMS) and smartwatch-integrated connectivity feature.
Importantly, the company is also extending these new features to more than 22,000 existing Nexon EV owners via a first-of-its-kind software update. According to Vivek Srivatsa, Head of Marketing Strategy, Sales and Service at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., “With the Nexon EV Prime, we look forward to further strengthening our strategy of keeping our product offerings fresh. software update for current owners we are setting a new benchmark of what customers can expect as part of the Tata EV ownership experience.”
Free software upgrade for existing customers
Tata Motors is offering the first software update to its existing customers, free of charge from July 25th at its authorized service centers. To ensure a seamless transition, Tata Motors will soon launch an education program for customers. Subsequent software updates for all existing owners will be paid for.
The Nexon EV Prime offers an ARAI certified range of 312 km on a single charge and is equipped with a 129 PS permanent magnet AC motor, powered by a 30.2 kWh high-capacity lithium-ion battery. The carline comes with a waterproof and dustproof battery, which offers a warranty of 8 years or 1,60,000 kms (whichever comes first) on the battery and motor.
In addition, the car offers 35 connected app-based features, from remote commands, vehicle tracking to driving behavior analysis, navigation and remote diagnostics. The Nexon EV is available in three colors: Signature Teal Blue, Glacier White and the newly launched Daytona Grey.
Nexon EV Prime ex-showroom prices are: XM – Rs. 14.99 lakh, XZ+ – Rs. 16.30 lakh, XZ + Lux – Rs. 17.30 lakh, XZ + dark – Rs. 16.49 lakh, XZ + Lux Dark – Rs. 17.50 thousand.
